This is a Drifter sweater.
It's a masterpiece of Lands' End.
The color is black, which is considered the coolest and most stylish.
It's actually the most versatile this time of year.
It's easy to adjust by wearing it under a warm jacket,

and short sleeves are cold, cotton sweaters can be worn frequently.
