Elegant modernist sterling silver cross necklace from circa the early to mid-Fifties. Pendant cross in double layers, with one slightly smaller, for a slight "sun ray" or glow effect. Oval disc in the center. Thin link chain with spring ring closure. In good vintage condition with some tarnish and regular wear (please see pictures). Stamped on the chain with an eagle (the Mexican silver craftsmanship mark). The back of the cross is stamped "Victoria Taxco Sterling Cony 101" and the eagle. Victoria was the working name of Ana Nunez Brilanti, who had a small shop in Taxco, Mexico. A lovely, unusual piece with a contemporary, yet timeless look!
